Christ sees how difficult it can be, to find good catechesis for an enquirer, at a time when many dissenters in the Church offer their own versions of the Catholic Faith. Christ wants the faithful to be comforted by the knowledge that no version of the faith is complete if it does not draw proper attention to the Real Presence of Christ in the Holy Eucharist, and the Papacy. These are at the heart of the true Faith.
Just as a lack of a balanced diet can cause sickness and even deformity in children, so a lack of the fullness of truth (where a distorted Christian message is heard, or where Orders are not valid) can lead to 'deformity' or 'sickness' in souls, even when they have good-will.

Through sin or dissent, a blow has shattered the clear 'windscreen' through which some people strain to look at Christ.

Though some would hide the evidence - just as blood flows from a wounded body, so a 'haemorrhage' is evident when disaster has occurred in the Church.
Someone who holds firmly to untruth is in danger of the 'poison' escaping and contaminating every other thought - as when a leaking jar ruins a store-cupboard.
A wise Catholic knows that all truths 'fit' together, as bricks into a wall. She does not try to fit odd stones into the wall - by writing or sharing dissenting teachings, or by contradicting God's laws.

Good parents offer warnings about the dangers their children must avoid if they wish to remain safe and at peace. Likewise, out of love for us, Christ has issued warnings - today through His Church - about sins to avoid, and the disastrous consequences of rebellion.
A screaming child, incoherent with anger, needs to be left to realise his need of help, and to admit his foolishness. Our wise God gives rebellious adults opportunities for reflection. He does not force us to do His Will. He even allows us, if we insist, to separate ourselves from Him eternally.
Those who strike at the Church's teachers and teaching strike a blow against Christ who is Head of the Church, His Body. Any Catholic who attacks the Church is like a person who cuts his own body.

Catholic editors should be careful in deciding which topics should be 'laid out' for examination in public, and what good will come from that
Catholic editors have a great responsibility to see that truth is predominant in their pages, and not falsehood, heresy, or distortion that can lead souls astray and that are like stains upon the columns we read.

Untrue or malicious statements about aspects of the Catholic Faith endanger the hearers like dangerous missiles; they threaten spiritual lives.
The Church has grown, as a giant oak grows from a sapling. Yet those who would bring about an over-simplification of Church beliefs and practices today, from admiration of the Early Church, are foolish if they believe the mutilated trunk of a giant oak would be as beautiful as a sapling.
Some priests need much help. They are unwilling or afraid to teach the whole truth that they were called to preach and teach. Their work will be as unsuccessful as the work of an artist who, claiming to draw a camel, draws only three camel's legs, and one leg of a horse. The creature, if it could walk, would give an uncomfortable ride.
