It is the Holy Spirit Who is at work in every prayer we offer, and at work to effect the change which takes place at the Consecration, when the bread and wine became the Sacred Body and Blood of Christ. A dove is a symbol of purity and holiness, pictured here behind the altar, as the Spirit is at work in His Divine power, to give us the Sacrament of our Salvation.

The 'flight' of a soul in prayer, in Divine grace and sweetness, is like the soaring of a swallow, or the swift movement of a dolphin, or a shark gracefully circling, or a Dove descending in simplicity and peace.

There is no need for concern about the Pope's decision to assist Anglicans who want to become Catholic whilst retaining some of their 'heritage'. He knows that Anglicans do not have valid orders, and that special measures are necessary rather than leave many Christians without all the Sacraments. The Holy Spirit, pictured in St. Peter's Basilica in Rome as a dove, in a Scriptural image, is guiding the Church today, just as in past ages, through all the Popes of the ages - and despite the personal sins of individual Popes.
