We need to maintain an inner peace at every provocation. If we are attacked, let us remember that Christ was followed and pestered by people who were determined to annoy Him, or to trap Him into some unwise or inflammatory answer.

Christ showed me that when He looks at me when I am suffering, it is as if He is looking with love at a little child; and His only desire is to help me and give me inner peace, and comfort and joy.

God greets a cry of love from one of His 'children' with the delight felt by an earthly father who hears a cry of love from his little child. Truly, we delight God by our loving exclamations of gratitude and praise.

The best prayer is that which is offered through Christ, in the Sacred Liturgy. Yet as God gazes upon the world with love He notices with delight each 'spark' of prayer offered by people who believe in Him as their Creator and Judge and Goal.

Christ is touched to the heart by every sign of devotion to Him in His Passion, which He endured out of love for us all. He wants us to pray to Him, even if the image in our hearts or the knowledge in our hearts is not perfectly accurate. The Sacred Liturgy is supremely important for prayer, but we should encourage everyone, of every faith, to trust in God and to turn to Him in prayer.

Some of our attempts to attract young people to Mass are unnecessary or even foolish. It is the living memorial of the Sacrifice of Christ; and if they believe and appreciate this they will long to be there.

It is the Lord's wish that our Bishops teach and reinforce the 'basics' of the Catholic life, which include regular and reverent Liturgical and private prayer, care of family and the needy, celebration of feasts and fasts, love for the Church, for the glory of the Holy Trinity, following Jesus.

As soon as I had received Christ in Holy Communion, I was shown by Christ that He stood within my soul, so to speak, praising and adoring God the Father above, just as I had been doing throughout the day, as I prayed, and offered up my sufferings, for God's glory, and to help the Church.

Christ explained the marvel of Baptism, by which the Three Divine Persons come to dwell in glory within the newly-baptised soul who can now have sure, intimate access to God, in his own soul, without his having to travel, as in earlier times, to the Temple.

Before the time of Christ, people had to go to the Temple at Jerusalem to be where God had come down in a special way. But Jesus, by His saving work, and the gift of Baptism, has made possible the entry of God, and the indwelling of God, in His glory, in the soul of the one who has freely accepted Christ and the sacrament.

It is a marvellous 'moment', when a soul is shown that he is perfectly purified, and is ready to leave Purgatory and enter Heaven. There, in the Father's light, he will meet his Saviour, Christ.

Christ showed me His delight in the care taken to prepare a worthy place for the pyx to be placed. Christ Himself, Present in the Blessed Sacrament, showed His joy that, for love of Him, I had placed flowers before that little 'altar'.

Christ is pleased whenever people write, speak or act to support brave organisers who work to save life. The work done by 'LIFE', for example, to save unborn babies is admirable, in the spirit of Christ our God, Whose gift life is.

Christ is overjoyed when we take steps to defend the weak, or to save lives, even by little efforts like writing to newspapers or politicians.

Christ wants us all to know how deeply touched He is, as He looks upon those who bear the Crosses which go with discipleship, with faithfulness to the Church and the sacraments, stable family life, and day to day witness.

Christ told me: "By reverence, you enter into the Mystery. By the opposite, you cast yourself out". He was speaking about the Mystery of friendship with and intimacy with God. Great faith in Him should show itself in gestures of reverence and gratitude.

Christ asks us to conduct a fundamental reappraisal of our current attitudes and actions to do with reverence towards Him. It is time that we acted as if we recognise Christ as our Lord and God, each time we enter a church or receive Him in Holy Communion or welcome Him into our homes in the Sacrament of the Sick.

When Christ 'visits the sick' through the Blessed Sacrament being brought by a priest or extraordinary minister of communion to a sick person, He is delighted to know that, out of love for Him, some Catholics make reverent practical and spiritual preparations.

Any priest who offers the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, yet rushes away to fulfil his own selfish plans, or to continue a sinful lifestyle, moves as if from Heaven to Hell in a few minutes, leaving the 'Heaven' which is Christ's Real Presence to the 'hell' which is human life when the 'door' has been shut to God.

Only in Heaven, Christ explained, is everybody perfect, so though we should all aim for perfection, none should grow despondent about our tiny faults, nor imagine that Christ is displeased with our efforts. (It is always possible, with God's help, to avoid mortal sin, if we wish).
