After the wine was consecrated, I saw the chalice which now held the Precious Blood; I saw the 'veil' parting, and Christ on His cross offering His Sacrifice.
At every Mass we reach up and meet the Father through the Sacrifice of Christ our Head, bound together with each other and with Him

People in every town and village owe the graces now offered to them to the merits of Christ, who offers His Sacrifice on our altar.

Some turn their backs and ignore the work which Christ does for their salvation; they demonstrate their indifference to His Sacrifice.
Whenever Mass is clebrated in our country, it's as if Calvary appears at the heart of England. Those of us who did not live with Christ in his lifetime or stand beside his Cross in history can nevertheless unite ourselves with Him and with His once-for-all Sacrifice, as it is re-presented at every Mass, where Christ is truly Present, praying on our behalf.
When we offer the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, a parting appears in the 'fabric' of time and we 'touch' the moment of Christ's death on Calvary
Christ's Sacrifice - offered from on earth - is like a beacon of light before Heaven. Who would dare to take this 'way' to Heaven without seeking forgiveness first?

One who chooses to ignore Christ is turning His back on the bleeding figure who suffered death for our sins.
Just as Christ bore suffering as punishment for others, so it is with us, who can help other souls by our patient acceptance of suffering.

At every Mass, Christ is made Really Present with us. It's as if our Risen Saviour stands before us, at the altar, His head bowed in reverence for God the Father, to Whom He lifts His arms as He prays for us. Christ offers to Heaven all the prayers that we pray 'through Him, with Him, and in Him'. In the power of the Holy Spirit, this one great sacrificial prayer is both powerful and effective.
Christ offers from our sanctuary the same Sacrifice as that which He offered from the cross: a complete self-offering to the Father.
A person who prays to God with a sincere heart, offering Christ's prayer and Christ's saving work, is making his own Christ's love and Sacrifice; and thus he 'inserts' himself into the life of the Holy Trinity, as a diver enters an ever-flowing and powerful river.
To offer Christ's Sacrifice to the Father is like offering a treasure box, which is made more beautiful by the 'diamonds' on it, which are our repented and forgiven sins.
