No-one would want to walk down the aisle in a badly stained garment for everyone to see. Yet many people walk down the aisle, for Holy Communion, with their souls covered in huge 'stains' - which Jesus can see - the stains of unrepented sins.
Imagine how embarrassed a bride would be, whose dress had been stained by a spilled drink, and who then thought about her walk towards the altar. Similarly, everyone who approaches the altar to receive Holy Communion needs to think about their present state. Is there a large 'stain' on their soul, from serious sin, which makes them unfit to approach to receive Christ their Saviour?
We are not all called to full-time missionary work; but we should all hope to share our Faith by example and sometimes words. Brave Catholics, called by God to share the Faith boldly, are like charitable people who are willing to hand out maps, free, to passers by, because so many people do not take the road to the City of God, but the wrong road, into a cul-de-sac, in which they will never meet their King and Creator.
It is through trust in God and obedience to His Church that someone can be brought as if to the top of a building which reaches as far as Heaven, even though some people below may think the climb is pointless.
The Saints and Angels are honoured when we show reverence towards them. All together, we offer praise and reverence with one voice to God on high.
People who use a Catholic church as merely a concert hall for secular music, or a meeting place for secular gatherings (sometimes even removing the Blessed Sacrament from the tabernacle) are like people taking a beautiful and sacred Reliquary box, to use it as a sandwich tin for a parish picnic.
Just as it is not appropriate to use a precious Reliquary box as a sandwich tin, so it is not appropriate to 'empty' A Catholic church to use as a social centre or a concert hall.
Whoever loves and trusts God, and remains faithful to Him, is drawn to His heart as surely as someone swept to the centre of a whirlpool
Since Christ's death and Resurrection, the dark 'doorway' of death holds no terrors for Christ's friends. They know that, through death, they can go where the King of Glory went - following on the Way 'through' to Heaven. Those who live in the darkness of grievous sin, however, are 'blind' to the doorway, and do not find the Way.
The purity of Heaven is far away from any worldly, sinful way of life. We may be half-way to Heaven, with Christ and Our Lady, in contemplation and acts of charity, but only by grace can we persevere to the end, on the 'hard road'
When we meet Christ we always meet the Father and the Holy Spirit. The Three Divine Persons are active and alive, and never separated, as they invite us to share in their life.

Christ our God was truly at work in the Creation of the Universe, with the Father and the Holy Spirit. At every moment Christ is all-knowing, everywhere present, all-loving and all-holy. We live in His love.

The family which has a roof over its head and a table to eat at is well prepared for everyday life and education. Sound doctrine is like the roof and the table of our Christian life. Those who rely only on feelings and want to picnic all the time have no shelter for themselves or for others, when gales blow, and animals trample the food into the ground.
Whenever the Holy Sacrifice is offered from our altar, Christ Who is Present in sacramental form is praising the Father in the fiery love of the Holy Spirit. Christ is here, praying to the Father on our behalf.

Whoever faces Christ, and says sincerely: "I'll do whatever you want", has begun the self-giving way of life found in the utterly self-giving love of the heart of the Holy Trinity
Our progress towards Heaven can be like a sales graph. We have done well if we have moved steadily upwards, despite occasional stumbles on the path, and have never turned back since first giving our life and heart to Christ.
