In His justice, God is like a huge bird of prey, who sees from afar the tiniest creature on earth and all its movements.
In His unchanging Will, God is like the perpetual and steady descent of a vast forest waterfall. Just as the water cannot suddenly flow upwards or sideways, so God never changes in His desire to offer us true life, true freedom, forgiveness and holiness, if we will accept them.
A person who rejects God walks into spiritual darkness
In His grace and beauty, God is like a leaping creature of the plains, like a gazelle: exquisite to look upon, graceful in every act and movement, swift to respond to the least cry or disturbance, yet often seeming motionless and at peace.
God, who loves us, is like the most faithful lover who dazzles his beloved with His gifts, but touches her heart most deeply by his sweetness and gentle care.
God is like the most faithful and tender lover, who moves His beloved above all by His sweetness and gentle care

The Church is taught and guided by the Catholic Bishops who are in communion with one another and with the Pope. God has given us the Pope as our bond of unity. Only those Bishops who remain in union with the Pope (who is like the gem-stone in a ring of stones) are fulfilling God's plan and providing, with the Pope, authentic leadership for the Church.
True friends in Christ can help to draw one another closer to God's heart. Even at a distance of many miles, some souls can soar 'upwards' to God, together, by God's Will and power. God has shown each when the other is praying, and then enables each to help the other.
If we hope to be saved, the importance of Baptism cannot be exaggerated. It is the means chosen by God by which a person's state becomes glorious. Sin is banished, and Divine Life is given, life which enables that person to live in union with God, and in the hope of attaining Heaven, by the grace of Christ.
Those men called to the Priesthood who surrender family life with reluctance, as a sacrifice wrung from them by circumstance, are never as happy as those who are overwhelmed by the knowledge of God's love for them and see beauty and freedom in this total self-giving to God and His Will in imitation of Christ.

Each Divine Person is at work to draw a soul into the heights of union. Father, Son and Holy Spirit - One God - are lovingly attentive, and draw willing souls up high.
In contemplation we can be held as if in a great 'breath': held in the 'wind' which is the Holy Spirit, a sweet breath in which the soul is carried and consoled, and held as if at God's heart.
When a soul is almost 'full' of God's grace (like a flooded room) everything and everyone in that person's life is therefore 'touched' by God, as well as that person who opened the 'door'.
Children' of God are at play in His Presence, it seems, amongst the tendrils of flame with which the Father reaches out from the great, bright fire of the Godhead.
Someone who has given both heart and mind to God in prayer, yet who is distracted by unwanted images, is no more to blame for them than a person who sits quietly in her room is to blame for the shadows cast on her window-blind by persons outside in the streetlight.
When I praised the Father for His gifts in prayer, he showed me that His Holy Spirit enfolds me in sweet 'fire', in joy.
By this image, the Lord has provided a reminder that the Three Divine Persons are One God - Holy and undivided. When we approach One in prayer, we are approaching all three Divine Persons.
Whoever prays to one Divine Person prays to the one, Eternal, Triune God Who is undivided.
