Some parents arrange to have their children killed before birth, which is against the Will of God Who creates us all and Who alone gives life.

Someone who sees a warning about thin ice, and deliberately disobeys, even stomping on the ice in a display of 'bravery', will certainly fall into the freezing depths. So it is with grave sin, committed by persons who refused to listen to warnings. Through such sins, people risk disaster: the worst of all being the loss of God.

In a seaside town, we can gaze at the busy streets and harbour, or turn to admire the sky and the calm sea. So, in our souls, we can gaze at our problems, in gloom and confusion, or we can choose to 'turn' to look towards God, to rest in Him, and to gain wisdom and peace.

Christ is with us in Holy Communion, bringing comfort and consolation. Sometimes He must correct us, but He also actively encourages us, and rewards us, for following His way.

The Son of God was willing to descend from heaven, to die amongst sinners, to save us. His Father in Heaven prepared an earthly Mother for Jesus, to give him consolation in His exile; meanwhile, the Father could 'see' all the future saints who would come to him, through Jesus.

Heaven is so vast, that from its heights it can be seen how small is the Earth, and how short is life on Earth. It is important, therefore, that we actively prepare for Heaven and do not neglect God and holiness.

Christ our risen Lord was Present above the altar, as if ascending from the tomb, His hands uplifted to the Father, interceding for us who believe in Him, our High Priest.

Christ is with us as we honour His saints.

When someone is patient is suffering, forgives enemies, looks with compassion on those who act unjustly, and comforts people in need, then other people see - as if through an open door - a glimpse of another Kingdom, a way of life which is Christ's Kingdom and Christ's Way.

Pope John Paul II soars on high, after his death, proceeding swiftly into Heaven, so complete was his union with God, and so great his holiness, simplicity and purity.

The message preached by a faithful Pope is consistent, coherent, and effective for those who receive it and who therefore 'live in the light'. It is a message for the whole world. And Pope John Paul II, who has preached it so well, and has now died, has 'soared' into the heart of the Godhead, in death - a 'place' with which he was familiar through prayer.

Those who accept God's plans, and God's help, can be made ready before death for their meeting with God. They allow themselves to be changed, and thoroughly reconciled, and made ready for Heaven.

We imitate Christ, Who painfully climbed a stairway towards Pilate, as we ascend a holy stairway from earth to Heaven, trying by God's grace to remain trusting and faithful to the end.

There have been may attempts made by men to reach Heaven. Everyone deserves to hear the good news that God has revealed to mankind, in and through His Divine Son, Jesus Christ, Who has made a Way for all to follow: a safe and sure Way to Heaven.

Christ is delighted if someone loves to receive Him in the Blessed Sacrament, loves to visit Him at the Tabernacle, loves to do His Will, and loves to tell others the good news about Him.

The Kingdom of Heaven, where God reigns in glory, extends as far as Earth: to each place, or each soul, where God's Will is done. Wherever people believe what is taught by Christ and His Church, and out of love for Christ put his teachings into practice, in truth, justice, love, purity and holiness, the Kingdom is made present. All are invited to enter.

When the bread has been consecrated at Mass, Christ is substantially Present on our altar, in all His glory. We offer Him the love and the reverence due to His Divinity, here in 'God's House'.
