The Holy Soul who is ready for Heaven is met not only by Christ, but also by His holy Mother and all the Saints. They all lead that joyful soul up the flight of steps to the Father's throne, in great gladness.

Heaven is like 'Head Office', and I am a junior in the Company. I don't know all the plans of the good director, but I can count it an honour to help Him. I even find that He comes out on the road to help me, or sends His Mother to guide me.
It is a cause for sadness, that many people never pray for the Holy Souls in Purgatory - amongst whom might be their own friends and relations. It is not a light matter, either, that many do not themselves believe that they might need purification after death; it's as if they imagine they will all be perfect, ready for Heaven!
The Father accepts our gifts of bread and wine, as if leaning from Heaven like a kind parent taking gifts from a child. The greatest gift we can offer is Christ Himself made Present when our gifts are changed into His Sacred Body and Blood.
Heaven was represented as a huge flower, at the heart of which was a beautiful, perfumed, dazzling sanctuary. Hell is the opposite: like a collection of dead flowers close by the earth, all damp and decaying, all colour and beauty gone, replaced by a repulsive sight.
From the glory of Heaven, God has made a bridge to earth, through Christ, so that all who believe in Him and are baptised can have a sure hope of reaching Heaven. He is the only bridge, open to all people.
There is only one way to Heaven - Christ Himself. By Baptism, each person enters the 'bridge', the safe way to Heaven. Some people who have not yet found the bridge, but who are making their way towards it, can be helped by God to reach Heaven, but there is no bridge but Christ.
Many people neglect their duties towards God and their neighbour. They fight and argue until death - when there is no spirit of charity in them to bring them up to Heaven.
If we picture the earth, and the 'ladder' to Heaven, as if from the heights of Heaven, we can see that earthly life was very short, and our sufferings very brief, in the Light of Eternity.
There is a vast gulf between earth and Heaven, bridged only by Christ.
Sincere praise, offered through Jesus, in the Spirit, to the Father of light, flies swiftly to the 'heart' of Heaven, as when an arrow pierces a cloud. Our prayers are worthwhile and effective.
Those who enter Heaven find, as if in a foreign country, beauty excitement and novelty. A contemplative who has seen Heaven in prayer, and returns to speak of it, is like someone who sends picture postcards to her friends, from a foreign city.
The Lord lifts some people 'high' in prayer, to see the glory of Heaven. By His Will, He causes them to reflect some of the glory back to others on earth, through their witness, as if they are a mirror.
We can meet Christ at the tabernacle. It is as though the light of Heaven shines behind Him, as He listens to us, and pours out His graces upon us.

When we pray, we approach the palace of our Heavenly King. Are we His friends or enemies? If a servant asks us for the password and we know it - it is 'Jesus' - our requests are granted.
The Saints are gathered together in Heaven as if on an island far above our sinful world. The Lord invites us to change, by His power, and to share one day in their Eternal bliss.
It is a long way we must 'travel', if we are to persevere on our journey from sinful earthly life to the holiness and beauty of Heaven. Only by God's power, poured out in the sacraments, can we 'ascend' on high.
The big question we should ask ourselves is: 'Am I ready for Heaven?' We have a great need for repentance, penance and purification.
