The Glory of the Holy Trinity

Life in Christ is like a constantly moving process of loving guidance from the Three Divine Persons. This draws willing souls up high, to greater sanctity.

To live 'in Christ' in a state of grace is like living on a mountain top in early life, battered by temptations, but hoping to climb up to Heaven rather than take the broad road to Hell.

It should be the aim of each Christian to climb the mountain of holiness, and to emerge one day from the darkness of sin to the 'fresh air' of life in Christ, in purity, amidst the flowers of grace - ready to greet Christ when He calls the soul to die, and to go 'Home'

By a sincere prayer for help, a person can receive from God enough grace to be able to turn round, move away from spiritual danger, and climb up high, to rejoin the narrow way that leads to light, which is life in Christ.

It is as though, to reach Heaven, we must deliberately aim for Heaven, swimming against the powerful current that might draw us into a 'whirlpool' of evil that leads to Hell. Baptism is like a set of water wings that hold us up and give us confidence about life in Christ, and the power to become holy and to persevere.

Life in Christ involves both fasting and feasting. We should love what is good, but be prepared to sacrifice this when necessary for an even greater Good, which is God.

Christ looks on with joy as a man who was once involved in violent and criminal activities now travels widely, speaking to young people about 'life in Christ', and working to lead them onto the right path, and away from all that is evil.

Many people live parts of their lives in a cellar, keeping hidden various thoughts or activities or memories which they do not want anyone to bring out into the light. These are precisely what need to be dealt with before a person can lead a carefree life in Christ, as if in the happy home above the cellars.

They do not see our sins; yet the saints in Heaven are in Communion with us. They see our joys, and comfort us by their prayers when we are in pain or dispirited. There is no death, for those who live in Christ: only 'life in Christ'

A person who deliberately commits grave sin, perhaps through becoming resentful or bored in the 'long haul' of ordinary life in Christ's service, is as foolish as a climber who lets go of his rope, in order to move towards something attractive seen in the distance. As a climber falls to his doom, unless by a miracle he is caught in mid-air, it takes a miracle of grace for someone in mortal sin to be converted, and saved.

We are not all chosen to be official 'Evangelisers'; yet those who experience the peace-of-soul, spiritual growth and intellectual delight of the true Faith, and who are grateful for life in Christ, are not acting kindly if they don't share the Faith at suitable opportunities, or if they even advise other people to keep on with their mistaken beliefs or superstitious practices. It's as if people on their way to a warm climate can choose whether to take pity on a family they see, huddled in a snowfield, or can ignore them whilst rejoicing in their own good fortune.

We are foolish if we endanger our state of grace, and our eternal destiny. To have been given the gift of life in Christ is a great privilege. It is to share the very life of God through the indwelling Trinity, and so to fulfill the Father's plan that each of us begins to resemble Christ and to be transformed by the action of the Holy Spirit. It's as if we are held in His embrace, being prepared for life in Heaven.
