Christ's Real Presence on the altar is so glorious, it is as though a fire of praise and glory soars upward to the Father.

At every Mass we stand beside Christ crucified for our salvation

At the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass we have 'fire from Heaven', as the fire of Christ's infinite love blazes before the Father.

This is the heart of the Catholic Faith: that Christ died to save us; and that this same saving Sacrifice is re-presented and offered here at the Mass in sacramental form.

Though we can see hints of God's glory in nature, we can only 'touch' God in and through Christ. Sin made a gigantic barrier - like a vast curtain across the skies - between Heaven and earth. Only Christ's Cross has torn away that barrier. Christ has made a way through: the Way that we find when we reach Christ and Calvary at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

It was on Calvary that Christ made a bridge by which all who come to Him can reach Heaven; and it is at Mass that we find Calvary.

It is the Holy Spirit Who is at work in every prayer we offer, and at work to effect the change which takes place at the Consecration, when the bread and wine became the Sacred Body and Blood of Christ. God showed me that our three priests who offered the Holy Sacrifice were standing around the cross on which Christ died.

As our priest says: "Through Him, with Him", we pray with thousands of saintly souls, and with the whole Church.

Truly, Christ our God is Present before us, Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity: Present in glory at every Mass to pray to the Father on our behalf. He is the Living Bread, come down from Heaven, for the life of our souls. On the feast of 'The Body and Blood of Christ', we pay Him special honour.
