God is so great, and the earth so small, that nothing can happen that He has not allowed - even the worst things that people suffer. To have trust in God is a magnificent way of showing love for God, believing that He is good, and that good can come out of evil; trust of the sort shown by Jesus our Lord in His earthly life-time.
It's as if there stretched a long spiral ladder from heaven down to earth. This was to show the great 'height' from which Christ descended when He came down to earth to be born of Mary, having left behind His glory.
Every person on earth will one day arrive either in Heaven (perhaps through Purgatory) or Hell. It is our urgent duty to work for the salvation of souls.
Christ revealed Himself at the Consecration. He stood before the altar, in glory, His arms outstretched in greeting, as He assured me that these particular difficulties will soon be overcome.
Christ came to earth, to be born in poverty, for our sakes; yet we need to feast as well as to fast in His Church. We feast on His birthday, for example, in preparation for the Eternal feasting which takes place in Heaven, in an eternal celebration of His Love.
A person who lives in selfish isolation, with a cold-hearted stance towards others, nevertheless benefits from the kind acts by which others reach out in charity. Kind people with the 'fuel' or 'fire' of love, help to keep that soul alive in his self-chosen winter.
God receives the greatest honour when the priest's supreme desire at Mass is to give glory to Him through a reverent offering of the Holy Sacrifice. A good priest also wishes to edify the congregation, but he recognises that the Mass is God's act: infinitely powerful and effective no matter how well or badly the participants prepare and take part.
When the praise of the Church on earth, with and through Christ its Head, rises up to Heaven, it's as if Heaven is startled and delighted - so powerful and glorious is that praise. It 'explodes', as when the light from thousands of fireworks explodes during a national celebration.
Through our Baptism, we are adopted as God's children. We have a right to be heard in prayer. We can be as confident before God our King as an envoy who addresses a great earthly King saying: "Here are my credentials. I know you will hear me". Christ guarantees we'll be heard.
When a new saint arrives in Heaven, the whole company greets that soul, with Christ and his mother Mary. Then the new arrival is led through the throng - like a Queen at a garden party - to meet many old friends and companions, and many Saints who have been an inspiration and example.
When a faithful soul enters Heaven, she is made happy by meeting not only Christ and His Mother Mary, but also the particular Saints whose example have helped her.
As well as ensuring reverent, beautiful worship of God, Christianity, properly practiced, makes society flower, with mutual help, care for the needy, beauty, joy, human advancement and freedom.
The Heart of Jesus Christ our Saviour is so vast that it contains the whole universe, our world, and everyone on it. He loves every person with a deep, fervent and tender love. He prays for each of us today with as much fervour and power as when He prayed on the Cross.

Of what use is it, if a man who needs to be lifted from a hole in the road, is simply told by a passer-by: "I'm praying for you"? Both prayer and practical help are needed.
Where grace is accepted from Heaven, it overflows on earth. Christians should show, by their charity, what Christianity is like.
Only in Heaven is everybody perfect. When we look upon other people in earthly life who seem to be without faith or hope we must look with patience and kindness. Perhaps they need time, as they consider entrusting their lives to God.
Those Christians who struggle to be Christ-like in difficult circumstances do well to 'look' at Christ's earthly life. The founder of Christianity lived in His own country as a man of peace; and he spent much of his time healing as well as preaching. His followers should be people of peace.
