Just as, for an earthly party, we have guests, music and light, so Heavenly guests attend the 'party' which is our novena and benediction!

Christ is enthroned above us, in glory, at our Novena and Benediction, which is like a heavenly party. Our mother Mary stands joyfully close by.

A Novena and Benediction are like a solemn 'party' to which heavenly guests are invited

Christ is present with His Holy Angels at our Novena and Benediction; and Our Lady delights in our unashamed affection.

Christ and His Holy Mother are very close to us all, during our Novena and Benediction - to console us, and to hear our prayers.

When a priest is holding the monstrance with the Sacred Host, and blesses us with it, Christ Himself is blessing us, even though we do not see Him. It's as if He stands there in front of us, holding up His right hand in blessing, glad to be with those who love Him.

Christ is deeply touched, and very pleased, when we take part in traditional devotions such as Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, with Benediction, or the 'Forty Hours', and various devotions which honour His holy Mother Mary. He does not want anyone to criticise such practices, nor to ban them.

Christ was standing in the sanctuary; but He said that He was gazing around the whole Catholic Church on earth, saying: 'Here I am, your Divine Saviour, Really Present amongst you. But where are the Processions? Where are the banners? Where are the beautiful monstrances to honour me and to show out My Presence in the Blessed Sacrament? Years have gone past, with little Adoration or Benediction.

There is no need for irreverent liturgies to be offered to youngsters, in the hope of sparking an interest in religion. It is better, in Christ's sight, to prepare joyful social events for them, followed by thorough catechesis, and opportunities for Reconciliation. Then there can be a beautiful inspiring Mass, or Adoration and Benediction.

It is a tragedy that two generations of Catholics have not learned, in their homes or schools or churches, the importance of kneeling for prayer and of showing reverence to Christ by genuflection and by attendance at Benediction. It is also sad that many have never seen or taken part in a Eucharistic Procession.

Christ does not see many images of Angels or even Saints in many modern churches, though He would be pleased to see them; but He assures us that real Angels really surround Him at the altar, both at the Mass and during Benediction, or by the tabernacle. They are servants of Him, the King.

The Angels look on with joy, to see their Lord, Jesus Christ, adored. This is true whether the venue of the Mass is a tent or a Cathedral, or whether Christ is being adored in the Mass, or in the tabernacle - or enthroned in the monstrance, for Adoration and Benediction.
