We should trust in God's love from one day to the next. There are people who are not content to walk the safe, narrow way marked out by Jesus Christ for all who would follow Him to Heaven. Some people insist on making extraordinary efforts to try to see the way ahead, or foretell the future, or to find a different path to Heaven - as if trying to climb a ladder, to reach above the cloud which represents the limitations of our human existence and knowledge.

How powerful a prayer is the act of faith made in darkness. The Saints rejoice at such cries of delight to God from our 'dark' world.

Every act of faith in God (as when we pray the creed, sincerely) is like a cry of hope and determination from a darkened world.

A workman leans on his shovel amidst the mess and clutter of a building-site, not yet seeing the reason for all His labour: so it is with us as we persevere in faith!

In real union with God, a new way of life stretches ahead, like a 'sacred way', or a sunlit valley high above the dark plain.

Christ, the truth, is shining out towards each soul. A pure soul, like a crystal, receives many virtues. A dark and sinful soul is not penetrated by Christ's light, but is like a rock.

Friends and relations who live, work and pray united in Christ, are pushing back the darkness, to enlighten others.

By our fervent prayers to Our Blesssed Lady, it is as though we hold aside the strands of darkness, to let Heaven's light shine down upon the needy.
