What must it be like for Christ, Who gives the gift of life, and often sees it rejected by those who destroy a life in the womb, when it has only just begun, or who bear children but see them as burdens, and fail to teach, guide or show love?

Life is a gift from God: but so too is the power of God in human hearts: the power and love given when we receive the Holy Spirit, Who urges us to care for the poor, sick, weak and needy.

In descending to earth as man, the Son of God came to share His Divine power, life, wisdom and joy. He showers with extraordinary gifts all who follow His instructions and, for love of Him, follow His Way.

Living human beings are a gift from God. The Holy Spirit gives life; and it is He Who receives insult and offense wherever people treat human embryos as so much rubbish to be thrown away.

Those who destroy infants in their mothers' wombs, or who discard tiny embryos, are not only acting against those living human beings, but offending God. They act against Him, the giver of life, when they discard miniature living persons as so much rubbish, even if they do not realise how great is the wrong they do.

The Holy Eucharist, which is Jesus Christ Really Present, is such a great and holy gift that two Angels accompany the priest as he carries the blessed Sacrament to us, for Holy Communion.

Christ greeted me with His arms open wide in a loving gesture, showing His delight, on my child's birthday, that I have welcomed every child I have conceived, and have been grateful for God's gift of help.

If we were to search round the whole world, we could find no greater honour being conferred upon a man than the gift of the Ministerial Priesthood. He is chosen to represent Christ our God, Who came to earth to save us, and Who is even now with us in the Blessed Sacrament.

Whoever praises God for the grass and the sunlight, the raindrops and the dew, should know that all the beauty of nature has been prepared by God for our delight, and our use. By His deliberate plan, He made a world for us, where we can find life sustained, and our hearts touched by so much loveliness.

There was a monk chosen to be a door-keeper at his monastery who attained a profound degree of union with God, and spiritual fulfilment far greater than that found in any grand but unnecessary religious project, or in any worldly career. God can give unsought and unexpected gifts and joys to humble people in any walk of life.

People usurp the Father's role when they act against His wishes (even without realising it) by their suicide or self-harm. Life is a gift from God, not to be thrown away or damaged.

God can see that some atheists are muddled and badly-taught; yet there are some who have made themselves 'blind' to His existence, have refused to listen to the truth about His existence, have ignored the promptings of God, and have failed to respect His laws or to offer a single word of thanks for the gifts of God which include life itself. Someone like this has chosen to be separated from God - and he remains separate, in Hell, for all eternity, if he does not repent before he dies.

If we want to approach Christ at Adoration, to show out the love that was shown to Him by His Mother Mary on earth, we need only show Him our delight in His Real Presence, our gratitude for His gifts; with joy at being so near Him, and awe at being so close to our God: just as Mary did.

God has designed a man and a woman for a joyful union in marriage which can result in the gift of life: the gift of a child. Where they take pleasure in one another yet at the same time exclude the possibility of receiving God's gift, they are like those before them who have called out to God, saying, 'I will not serve'.

The Blessed Virgin Mary accepted God's Will, which was that she carry a child in her womb. She bore the gaze of amazed villagers, for love of God, unlike married people who refuse to do God's Will, as they deliberately make their married union sterile, by contraceptive use, and refuse the gift of life.
