God the Father, aware of the horrific cost of the Incarnation, reaches out, through His Holy Spirit, to His Beloved Son, Who willingly assents to come to earth for our salvation
If we hope to be saved, the importance of Baptism cannot be exaggerated. It is the means chosen by God by which a person's state becomes glorious. Sin is banished, and Divine Life is given, life which enables that person to live in union with God, and in the hope of attaining Heaven, by the grace of Christ.
As people move towards death, and the Abyss, some cannot see the bridge to the other side. Others know where to find Christ, the bridge, and walk steadily towards Him. Some people have heard about the bridge but have allowed themselves to be swept away, in serious sin, towards disaster.
When Christ was hanging on the Cross in torment He was aware of all human tragedies from the beginning to the end of life - including the sufferings of those on 9/11. God does not look on impassively as mankind suffers; on the contrary, the Son of God came down to earth to share our sufferings, even to die. When Christ rose from the dead, He made a way to Heaven for all who would follow Him.

A surgeon who gives a serious diagnosis sometimes has little hope of a cure. A priest who has to 'diagnose' serious sin can offer, as a cure, complete forgiveness and peace to those who sincerely repent!

Everything in a priest's life should pale into insignificance when set beside the supreme task of saving souls and leading them towards an everlasting Easter. No personal or private ambition or scheme must intrude.
The Godhead is like a walled city. Only if we are carried by the Holy Spirit can we be carried over the wall into Heaven when we die; and only by His power can people approach Heaven in contemplation, as if by a rope ladder which is prayer.
Since Christ's death and Resurrection, the dark 'doorway' of death holds no terrors for Christ's friends. They know that, through death, they can go where the King of Glory went - following on the Way 'through' to Heaven. Those who live in the darkness of grievous sin, however, are 'blind' to the doorway, and do not find the Way.
Each person on earth, scarred by original sin, is invited to share the life of the Three Divine Persons, One God, who live in infinite joy and radiance.

When someone dies in the love of Christ, having served Christ to the end with selfless love, he rises up to Heaven in utter peace and gladness, reaching out his arms to Heaven, longing to see His Saviour at last.
We can see Our Lady kneeling near the foot of the Cross, her son's head in her lap, His body spread before her, as she cradles Him. If we remain faithful we can hope to meet, one day, the Saviour Who rose to life again, and the Holy Mother who bore Him.
Our Blessed Lady stood in the Lady Chapel, in glory, showing how she shares our joy on the feast of the Birth of her son, Our Lord. She played an important part in God's plan of salvation, and should have an important place in our lives and hearts, as our Mother.
Of all the paths which people tell us lead to God, only one does so. There is no way 'up' to God except through Christ and His life of grace. Other short paths are made by human beings who search for truth. We can admire their sincerity and good desires but not their main conclusions if they take us away from Christ.
Because of their Baptism, souls have been changed; and those who enter Heaven are 'shielded' from the burning fire of love which is God's nature. Instead of suffering through contact with His holiness, they shine, in joy: as if each is a little flame of love, visible even amidst the surrounding Divine Glory.
Thousands and thousands of Saints are waiting to greet each happy soul who flies swiftly to Heaven, at death, and each happy soul who ascends from Purgatory, purified, into Heaven's light. Each soul is greeted with joy, love, and admiration.
From the glory of Heaven, God has made a bridge to earth, through Christ, so that all who believe in Him and are baptised can have a sure hope of reaching Heaven. He is the only bridge, open to all people.
