Habitual sins in the lives of those we pray for are like granite mountains. They can only be removed by a spiritual explosion - perhaps an extraordinary intervention by Christ - or by the sinner Providentially receiving a change of circumstance, in which he sees more clearly, and freely choses to make major changes.

Jesus died on the Cross for the sake of the millions who could benefit from His conquest of sin and death. He would have died to save just one person; but the truth needs proclaiming today, that each one who ignores Christ, disobeys His laws and live in selfishness until death will find himself far from Christ, in Hell.

It is possible in the world to follow the inspiration of God; yet those who are transformed by Baptism are full of Divine Life of the Blessed Trinity. Only God can see who loves and serves Him and is on the Way to Heaven; but, outside the Church, it is difficult to live as a Saint among sinners if a person is ignorant of what God's Will really is, and does not have the ordinary channels of grace given unfailingly through the Church. All the more reason why we should spread the good news about Christ: the Way, the truth and the life, Who promises Heaven to forgiven sinners.

A last-minute repentance, before death, is highly unusual. Although the Good Thief was saved, we should not put off the moment when we decide to give up our sins and do God's Will.

A person who is sorry for his sins, at death, will be saved in Christ. But some people refuse to repent. One who says, "I have no sin" makes God to be a liar, and can certainly not be saved, nor find joy in Heaven. No-one receives an unjust judgement.

By offering up our pains and unavoidable sufferings in union with Christ in His Passion we join in His redeeming work in our generation and bring powerful help to needy souls caught in sin, sadness or near-despair.

Any politician who wants to help his country should oppose with all His might unjust and immoral new laws. Once such a bad law is passed, it is easier for sinister, related matters to gain approval, and the government becomes like a runaway train which endangers onlookers as well as passengers.

Just as a person who tries to clean the outside wall of a house has little success with a garden hose but amazing results from a power-hose, so a sinner who is ashamed but does not bother to go to confession remains stained with sin, whereas one who is cleaned in the Confessional in the Sacrament of Penance emerges with a soul made glorious by Divine action.

Many Confessionals are empty of penitents because many of the Clergy have failed to teach the truth about sinful behaviour, and the rewards of Heaven, and the pains of Hell. Many Catholics do as they please, without respect for God. All who say 'I have no sin' make God to be a liar, and cannot be saved.

Christ said that in looking at my Last Judgement people will see in an instant what is important about life. Through seeing the three main areas - Heaven, earthly life, and Hell, they will straight away receive His message, which is that only the virtuous go to Heaven - through the grace of Christ - when they die, whereas unrepentant sinners go to Hell.

There are souls in Hell who are being tormented by demons. In earthly life, they refused to listen to God who loves them. They chose to walk on the path to Hell as they cried out, until death. 'I can do whatever I like'.

A person who sins, and who says to himself, "I can do whatever I want", would be wise to remember that by his decisions and acts he aligns himself either with God and the Saints and Angels, or with Satan and his demons and all who love evil. He should pause, to ask: "Whose side am I on?"

The Lord assured me that I was right to picture Christ as He is: God made man, that is, God made visible; but I am right to leave the Father's face invisible - since He is transcendent, and ineffable: indescribable in His holiness and beauty.

The Lord showed me the results of the Plenary Indulgence which I had gained, by His grace, through Mass and Holy Communion, special prayers, and a sincere Confession. All my sins had been forgiven, with no punishment due. It was as though I was clothed in an unspotted white Baptismal robe, and was like a carefree child in God's presence, like the people in white in the Last Judgement painting.

There are many people who seek out counselling or therapy whose problems could be solved by the repentance that leads to Confession, and a state of grace, and the peace and freedom which came from being forgiven. Many people, Christ observes, make excuses for themselves when they became downcast through grievous sin, and a failure to repent.

Some priests mistakenly see themselves as counsellors rather than priests. In their misguided view of pastoral care they forget that they have been called to be 'other Christs' who teach the truth about sin and holiness, who invite people to repent and to receive forgiveness, freedom and peace.

Christ showed me that by asking me to paint a castle wall in the Last Judgement painting, to encircle Heaven, He is showing out the truth that there is only one entrance: only one Way made by Christ. Everyone can enter there who has been clothed in grace, whose sins have been forgiven, and who is indwelt by the Holy Spirit.

Christ is God-made-man, Who endured 'hell on earth', and sacrificed His life, in order to teach people about sin and goodness, and to conquer sin and death. He showed by his coming to earth, that the Father is not a tyrant, glad to send people to Hell, but a loving Father, Who, with His Son, has done everything possible to rescue, warn and convert sinners, to spare them their inevitable disaster.

A person who says, with sincerity, 'Lord, have mercy', allows the Father to lavish upon her the sweetness of His forgiveness and love, whereas the person who refuses to repent shuts his heart to the Father and therefore to the gifts which He would lavish upon him for his consolation and salvation.

Christ's intention, in asking me to paint a Last Judgement, with its scenes of Heaven and Hell, is for many people to see it, and to reflect on what they see. It will be as if the painting is posing a question for each to answer: "Where will you go: to Heaven or Hell?"
