I was shown a representation of the Godhead: a mountain of fire, the top of which moved towards me and touched me with Divine sweetness

God is like a mighty fire of love. Aware of human frailty, He revealed Himself to His people little by little, lest He destroy them by His glory.

In His unchanging Will, God is like the perpetual and steady descent of a vast forest waterfall. Just as the water cannot suddenly flow upwards or sideways, so God never changes in His desire to offer us true life, true freedom, forgiveness and holiness, if we will accept them.

Whoever pauses in His work, to pray - alone or in shared prayer - can glance towards Heaven, where Christ reigns with the Saints in glory.

True friends in Christ can help to draw one another closer to God's heart. Even at a distance of many miles, some souls can soar 'upwards' to God, together, by God's Will and power. God has shown each when the other is praying, and then enables each to help the other.

Whenever souls encourage one another in holiness they help one another to rise up in prayer towards Heaven: freed from fear, doubt or hesitation.

As a seagull soars effortlessly on high, resting on the winds as it gazes all around, so the soul can soar effortlessly in prayer, 'resting' on the Spirit's power, gazing towards Heaven, towards the invisible Father Whose touch is felt, but Who cannot yet be seen.

As people move towards death, and the Abyss, some cannot see the bridge to the other side. Others know where to find Christ, the bridge, and walk steadily towards Him. Some people have heard about the bridge but have allowed themselves to be swept away, in serious sin, towards disaster.

As a man delightedly holds his grandchild on high, to delight the child, so the Holy Spirit causes His children to soar upwards in delightful prayer.
