Christ first became an embryo, in the womb of His mother Mary, before He became a full-grown man. If we keep this in mind, we can both celebrate the wonder of His birth at Christmas, and help other people to treasure the gift of life, not to dispose of it in a brutal manner.
Whether a man cruelly murders an innocent woman in order to steal her valuables without a witness, or kills an innocent baby currently developing in its mother's womb, an act has been done which is barbaric in God the Father's sight, and deserving of punishment - even if the circumstances vary.
It is a dreadful thing, in God's sight, that elected law-makers can, of their free will, vote for abortion, that is, make possible the killing of tiny babies in the womb. They are as blameworthy, in God's eyes, as people who carry out those barbaric procedures.
The gift of life comes from Heaven, as God gives an immortal soul to each person conceived on earth. But Satan is at work to destroy God's gifts. Disguised as a doctor, he kills in the womb, by the hands of doctors, millions of unborn babies whose mothers have tragically given permission for their own tiny infants to be destroyed.
Christ sends down new life from Heaven: the living souls of babies, which are sometimes then rejected by their own mothers, and killed in the womb by Doctors who agree with this practice. Satan boasts, as he points towards parliament, that many of it's members are as guilty as those who do abortions, since legislators voted for it to be made legal.
If we believe that God became man in the womb of the Blessed Virgin Mary, as a tiny baby whose nature was both human and Divine, it is surely not difficult to believe that, by the same power of the Holy Spirit, Christ is once again made Present on earth, though in a different manner, in the Mass.
There is neither anaesthetic nor mercy for unborn babies being poisoned or dismembered in the womb
There are people who tell us how their hearts ache for the sufferings inflicted upon living creatures: battery hens, fish, birds, and dancing bears. How many of them have an equal or greater concern for the suffering of the living babies in their mother's wombs: babies poisoned or dismembered in abortion?
No matter what the reason given by anxious women, no unborn baby deserves to be poisoned or dismembered in the womb, to resolve a problem or an inconvenience in the mother's life. Each mother, as she carries a child, has a duty to protect her tiny infant, no matter how small.
It is too easy, in making decisions about everyday life, to weigh up the personal benefits and to forget the spiritual realities. Pregnant women deserve to be reminded that it is never God, or good angels, at work, urging women to destroy their own babies in the womb. Mothers must ignore selfish desires, or evil influences.
As if in a bright cloud, deep in the Mind of God, lies the image of the first man and woman, with the child who is the fruit of their union. It is God's plan that each man and woman joined in marriage should treasure the children they conceive, each of whom is given life from God. It is horrible, in God's eyes, when anyone destroys babies, whether inside or outside the womb.
It is astonishing that in an age when people boast about progress, in an 'advanced civilization', some of the waste products in a hospital consist of the little bodies of babies who have been torn from the womb and discarded, at the request of their own mothers.
Christ looks on in horror, as He sees little infants slaughtered in the womb by people to whom He has given life. He asks everyone who loves Him, and who loves life, to work and pray, to put an end to the dreadful practice of abortion.
It is a dreadful thing, in Christ's sight, that many people are so blind to the wonder of human life, or blind to it being a gift from God, or determined that a woman should not be inconvenienced by a pregnancy, that they support and encourage the killing of babies in the womb: innocent children, to whom He had given the gift of life.
Many women cry out about their human rights, and even their 'right to choose', that is, to choose to destroy a little human being in the womb. No-one has such a right, whereas every little baby, however small, most certainly has the right not to be killed: a right which politicians should be defending.
When someone is sentenced to death, people usually say, "What evil has he done?" None of the little babies put to death in the womb is guilty of crime, or personal sin, but only of being unwanted. So they are dismembered or poisoned, and thrown away, in what was once a civilised society.
Pontius Pilate said, of Jesus: "I find no fault with Him". Yet he gave Him to be scourged and killed, to satisfy the clamour of the crowd. That is what is done today, as politicians allow innocent, unborn babies to be slaughtered in the womb, to satisfy the clamour of people who don't want their own children.
Since it is extremely sinful to ignore our Creator by choosing for selfish reasons to miss Mass, or to encourage other people to sin, it is plainly even more dreadful to tear, limb from limb, another human being - albeit a very small person in the womb, given life by God the Father. To suggest, undergo, or assist in a direct abortion is to place oneself on the side of the demons, in the war between good and evil.
Someone who is willing to poison, or to tear limb-from-limb, a tiny infant in the womb who had been given life by God is not on the side of God but of the demons, who love to see His work destroyed or damaged.
Christ our God, Who gives us life, was Himself once a child, when He was made man in the womb of Mary. He wants to protect all children from two particular dangers: first, the danger of being killed in the womb, and then the danger of having their childhood innocence destroyed by unnecessary and too-early information, often amoral too, about sexual relationships.
